Seven years after a brush with death triggers a unique ability to detect deception, FBI Special Agent David Wellman finds himself tracking a treasonous former agent in Pakistan. Using his lie detecting skills to reverse interrogate his own terrorist captors, David uncovers a conspiracy to destroy a U.S. Navy carrier group. After reuniting with best friend and former partner Spence McKenzie in the tribal areas bordering Afghanistan, David enlists the aid of Pallavi Patel, a striking, enigmatic CIA agent, and together they close in on his quarry. But complicating the mission is David’s son Matt, now a budding journalist attending a peace conference in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. And when the terrorists target him, David embarks on a suicidal plan to protect his son, save his best friend's life, and destroy a weapon of mass destruction.

Following three successful sneak previews of our film Lie Detector, I met with my writing partner Tim Ryerse and we discussed where character David Wellman's lie detecting ability might take him next. With endless possibilities, we focused on David's struggle with an increasing skill level, and how his obsession with it affects the ones he loves. It became obvious he was capable of big things, so we placed him in Pakistan tracking down the rogue agent that got away in the first film. Much larger in scope than Lie Detector, Lie Detecting is a fast-paced action-adventure story that once again demonstrates the bond David shares with best friend Spence McKenzie. Our discussions didn't stop there, however. We now have a three-film story arc that tests our human lie detector in even greater ways on an ever-challenging world stage.
